6 examples of how to know when it’s time for a roof replacement

Curled or buckled shingles: If your shingles are curling or buckled, they are nearing the end of their lifespan. This could also be an indication of poor ventilation, which could lead to additional problems in your home.

Granule Loss: A high amount of granules in your gutters or on the ground near your home could indicate that your shingles are beginning to wear away. This can make your roof more vulnerable to weather-related damage.

Roof Deck Sagging: If you find your roof deck sagging or dipping in particular locations, it could be a sign that your roof is experiencing structural concerns. This might be caused by extra weight on your roof or other factors that can jeopardize the integrity of your roof.

Broken or damaged flashing: Flashing is the metal material used to seal your roof’s joints and edges. If your flashing has cracks or damage, water can leak in and cause damage to your roof deck and other portions of your home.

Visible light in attic: If you can see light entering through your roof deck in your attic, it means your roof is compromised and has to be replaced. Water may potentially enter your home and cause damage as a result of this.

Age: Different types of roofing materials have varying lifespans. If your roof is nearing the end of its estimated lifespan, it’s critical to begin planning for a replacement before it starts to leak.
